APEX 2008: at the centre of growth

The aerial platform business worldwide is currently enjoying one of its best periods ever, with demand for access equipment in the developed markets at an all-time high, and new buyers in the Middle East, Eastern Europe and elsewhere starting to make a real impact on sales volumes.

“Europe, US, Asia Pacific, South America, the Middle East
are all stronger simultaneously,” said Genie’s long time president,
Bob Wilkerson, in late 2005. “That we haven’t seen before.”

APEX 2008 will therefore be taking place at the perfect time. However, the current dynamics of the access market make the timing even more opportune. The North American boom - which has seen manufacturers’ sales grow rapidly - is widely anticipated to slow down within the next year or two, although remain at a healthy level. Europe’s access market often lags behind the US by 12 to 18 months, which would make Europe in 2008 an even more significant market.

Other factors make APEX 2008 the perfect time and place for a dedicated access show: the event will give visitors from new markets in Eastern and Southern Europe, as well as the booming Middle East region, the perfect opportunity to see the latest equipment, network with other access equipment buyers, and learn.

So APEX is primed to be a successful and timely event: taking place in what by 2008 will be the most vibrant of the world’s developed access markets and close to among the world’s fastest growing new markets in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

IPAF and APEX

The sixth APEX exhibition will again receive official support from the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF), the foremost world body for aerial platform users, manufacturers and rental companies.

IPAF has taken a central role in previous shows by exhibiting, demonstrating its training programmes and by participating in the APEX conference.

Andrew Reid, IPAF’s current president, said: “APEX is an important meeting place for the
whole industry and IPAF looks forward to actively working with the APEX organisers to
encourage a wider audience to attend and learn about the enhanced safe working
opportunities offered by the powered access business.”

Access International, which is the official magazine of IPAF, is again the sponsoring publication for APEX 2008 and will be organizing an access conference to take place during the exhibition.
