Maastricht is the centre of Europe

Close to France, and nestling where the borders of the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany meet, Maastricht is an undoubted beneficiary of the European integration process. The ultra-modern Maastricht Exhibition & Congress Centre (MECC) is just a stone’s throw from Maastricht’s city centre, and only a one-hour drive from Brussels Airport, Belgium, which offers international services to key cities in the world. Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport is around two hours away by road, while Maastricht has its own smaller airport, as the gateway to the EU region.

Maastricht is easily accessible via various European highways: E25/A2 (Amsterdam-Luxembourg), E40 (Cologne-Brussels), E42 (Luttich-Paris), E314 (Maastricht-Aachen). According to plans, the fast Thalys, also known as the red train, will link Maastricht to Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Cologne and Dusseldorf in 2008.

Maastricht offers a wide range of hotels, including many that meet the highest international standards at competitive rates. There are venues to suit all needs and budgets. Visitors are captivated by the city’s charm and hospitality. Maastricht has something for everyone and the restaurants and hotels make your stay a memorable treat. There is nothing like Maastricht’s relaxed atmosphere and joie de vivre. The safe city offers plenty of places to meet and network, with countless bars, dining and banqueting facilities.
